Defendant was 'just custodian' of cannabis

A MAN found with 2.1kg of cannabis has been given a community order.

Martin Mousah, 54, of Vicarage Road, Bishopsworth, had the class B drug in his possession on June 9 last year.

Denying a charge of possession with intent to supply, he was convicted after trial at Bristol Crown Court on March 29.

Mitigating yesterday, Nick O'Brien told the court his client still disputed the charge and he had been merely a custodian of the drugs for someone else, and not himself a drug dealer.

Taking into account Mousah's ill health, Judge William Hart imposed an 18-month community order, containing 18 months' of supervision from probation.
